US Central Command (CENTCOM) says its naval blockade of Iranian ports remains in effect, reporting that 16 vessels have been intercepted during recent enforcement operations.
According to CENTCOM, US forces redirected 12 commercial vessels, disabled two tankers that allegedly failed to comply with warnings, and conducted verification boardings of two ships.
The Comoros-flagged M/T Charminar was boarded in the Arabian Sea before continuing its voyage, while the Mozambique-flagged M/T Lavine was disabled in the Gulf of Oman after allegedly attempting to breach the blockade.
