The United States launched a new wave of strikes on Iranian military targets after accusing Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of attacking a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, further escalating tensions across the Middle East.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said around 140 military targets, including missile and drone sites, communications infrastructure and coastal surveillance positions, were struck. The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that the damaged vessel’s crew abandoned ship after the attack.
