Australia and Thailand have agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation following meetings between Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, HE Mr Anutin Charnvirakul.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic engagement, enhancing regional security cooperation and expanding joint efforts to combat transnational crime, including cybercrime, human trafficking and illicit drug trafficking.

Key developments:

  • Australia and Thailand pledged closer economic cooperation to support trade, investment and sustainable growth.
  • Joint commitments were made to strengthen cooperation against transnational organised crime and improve law enforcement collaboration.
  • Both governments reaffirmed support for a stable, prosperous and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.

The agreements reflect broader efforts to deepen the longstanding Australia–Thailand partnership through enhanced security, economic and regional cooperation.
