The United States and Sweden have signed a new Technology Prosperity Deal aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in innovation, security and emerging technologies.
The memorandum was signed in Helsingborg by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard during the NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Stenergard said the agreement would strengthen economic growth and collaboration in sectors including AI, defence innovation, connectivity and space technology. She also highlighted Sweden’s recent NATO membership and wider cooperation with Washington.
Rubio described Sweden as a “model Ally” and said the partnership would help both countries remain competitive in fields such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence and telecommunications.
