Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mozambican President Daniel Francisco Chapo have agreed in Beijing to elevate bilateral ties to a China–Mozambique community with a shared future in the new era, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

The talks reinforced cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and expanding South–South cooperation.

  • Over 20 cooperation documents signed covering energy, minerals, trade, health, and media
  • Expanded alignment on infrastructure, agriculture, AI, and the digital economy
  • Mozambique reaffirmed support for the One China principle and national reunification
  • Both sides committed to coordination within the UN and multilateral institutions

Xi Jinping highlighted deeper development strategy alignment, while Chapo described the visit as a milestone in bilateral friendship.

China reported bilateral trade reached $5.4bn in 2025, alongside continued zero-tariff access for least-developed countries. Cooperation is expected to focus on industrial development, agricultural value chains, and energy investment
