India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh reviewed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India–Mongolia Strategic Partnership during talks in Mongolia on Monday (22 June).
Dr Jaishankar said the discussions covered progress on commitments made during President of Mongolia’s visit to India in 2025, alongside opportunities to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
Key developments:
- India and Mongolia reviewed cooperation on the oil refinery project, ICT, education and development initiatives.
- Both sides discussed trade, supply chains, energy, defence, security, technology and capacity building.
- The ministers also exchanged views on regional and global issues, multilateral cooperation, Buddhist heritage and people-to-people ties.
Dr Jaishankar described the meeting as “very warm, very productive, very open” and said both countries remain committed to taking their Strategic Partnership “to even greater heights.”
